Facilities Assistant

POSITION TITLE:  Facilities Assistant 

Position Description:  Facilities assistant supports all functions of building maintenance and all areas of ministry.

Hours & Compensation: Part-time, pay based on experience, benefits package 

Accountability Structure: Reports to Operations Director and/or Facilities Supervisor

All Facilities Employees must:

  • Desire and seek to maintain a vibrant personal relationship with the Lord through prayer, worship, and growth in biblical knowledge, experience, and obedience.  Possess a contagious passion and love for worshiping the Lord.  

  • Develop relationships with the Facilities Team and Eastmont School Staff.

  • Have a desire to connect and establish relationships within the congregation.  

  • Strive to ensure the functionality, comfort, safety, sustainability and efficiency of the built environment.

  • Be willing to “do the dirty work” meaning nothing is below them

Demonstrated Skills Include:  

  • Maintenance of the Eastmont Church and School facilities, equipment and grounds.

  • Ability to analyze, report and resolve problems as they arise.

  • Ability to identify hazards, assess risk, take measures to increase the level of safety for the guests and staff

  • Communicate and work effectively within all levels of staff, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

  • Ensure all visitors and guests are treated with respect.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining grounds, including cutting grass, trim bushes and trees and helping maintain the irrigation system.

  • Maintenance of structures.

  • Maintenance of tools and equipment.

  • Work with outside vendors and contract workers.

  • Assists with janitorial and housekeeping duties in all areas of the buildings and assists other staff when needed.

  • Familiarity with basic skills in plumbing, electrical, and construction.

  • Ability to operate machinery: i.e. tractors, mowers, chain saws, etc.

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve specific problems.

  • Ability to work with a variety of people and be flexible.

  • Physical ability to complete tasks assigned.

  • Physical ability to work on ladders.

  • Commitment to the Eastmont Church mission.
