Associate Pastor
Position Overview:
Eastmont Church is seeking an Associate Pastor who will play a crucial role in our pastoral team. This individual will preach once a month, providing sound, biblical teaching in alignment with our church’s commitment to expository preaching. In addition, the Associate Pastor will have the flexibility to lead either Care Ministries or Community and Small Group Ministries, based on their passion and gifting.
Key Responsibilities:
Preaching and Teaching
Preach once a month as needed or requested during weekend services, delivering messages that are biblically sound, engaging, and relevant to the congregation.
Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and other pastoral staff in planning sermon series and other teaching opportunities.
Ministry Leadership
Care Ministries: Provide leadership and oversight to the church's care ministries, including pastoral care, visitation, biblical counseling, and support groups. Equip and train volunteers to provide compassionate care to those in need.
Community and Small Group Ministries: Provide leadership and oversight to the community and small group ministries, fostering an environment where individuals can connect, grow, and serve together. Develop and implement strategies for multiplying small groups and engaging new attendees.
Pastoral Care
Provide oversight to our care and counseling teams to help church members as needed, offering spiritual guidance and support
Assist in officiating weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other church ceremonies.
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other pastoral staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to achieve the church’s mission and vision.
Participate in regular staff meetings, retreats, and other church events.
Qualifications:
A strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects Christian character.
A Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in pastoral ministry, including preaching, teaching, and leading ministries.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
A passion for expository preaching and a deep understanding of the Bible.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with a diverse congregation.
